As soon as you create a new Scratch project, you should give it a name right away and then click the orange 'Share' button so Mr. Locke will be able to see it as well. See the picture above.

Every year in June, there is a Provincial Scratch Competition held at UNBSJ. If you end up making a really good original project, you might want to consider submitting it to the competition. You can always ask Mr. Locke for more information on this.

For Grade 8 Scratch, you will have the following three options:
  1. Create whatever you want in Scratch, without having to follow specific directions or instructions. If you choose this option, you should already have a pretty solid understanding of Scratch. Otherwise, you may find it too difficult.
  2. You may find an instructional Scratch video on YouTube and then follow those directions to make your Scratch project. See below for some YouTube options.
  3. You may ask Mr. Locke for a Scratch book. In the book, you will find several different games that you can make and the book will also provide you with detailed instructions about how to make them.
To get started with one of these options, you will first need to create your own Scratch account. Even if you already have a Scratch account, I want you to create a brand new one for this year's Tech class.

NOTE: You should only be clicking this link ONCE. During future classes, you should be clicking the link below to log into Scratch.
