Your first task for this station is to create an informative slideshow about Internet Safety.
To get started with this, choose "Presentation (16:9)" in Canva.
Your target audience will be students in Grades 4 and 5. Many of these students are just beginning to use the Internet without adult supervision.
With this in mind, what are some things they should definitely do when using the Internet? What are some things they should never do?
Your finished slideshow should consist of a title slide and at least 9 additional slides (each one explaining a different aspect of Internet Safety).
Here are some topics you may wish to explore (in no particular order):
- Passwords -- What makes a password weak? What makes a password strong? Besides you, who should know your password?
- Posting/sharing pictures and videos of yourself -- What do you always need to remember if you choose to do this?
- Posting/sharing pictures and videos of other people -- Is it okay to do this?
- Cyberbullying -- What is it? Why is it wrong?
- Suspicious Links -- What makes a link look suspicious? How do you know what you should and shouldn't be clicking on?
- Sharing personal information with people online
- Is there such a thing as too much screen time?
- What should you do if something happens online that just doesn't feel right?
- You may certainly include other Internet Safety tips as well. What other ones can you think of?
Other Requirements:
- While you can do online research for this assignment, all the information in your slideshow needs to be written in your own words.
- You must include images on all slides.
- You must use animations on all slides.
- You must insert transitions between each slide (so that each slide visually changes to the next in an eye-catching way).
