Assignment
Now that you've completed the Photoshop tutorial exercise and are more comfortable using the program, you are ready to start working on your assignment for this station.
For this assignment, you will need to remove a person from an image and then insert someone else into his or her place. For example, you may wish to insert yourself into your favourite band or a movie poster.

Step 1
Find a picture online that you can remove a person from.
NOTE:
There must be things in the background of the picture that you select. You CANNOT choose a picture that has a 'solid colour' background (i.e., a background that is all white, all black, etc.) because it won't be challenging enough.

Once you've found and downloaded a picture, watch the video on the right. It will show you how to remove a person from the picture that you have chosen. You don't necessarily need to watch the entire video; the important thing here is that you learn how to use the clone stamp tool.

Step 2
Ask a classmate to take a picture of you in front of our green screen. You may borrow a digital camera from Mr. Locke to accomplish this.
Once the picture has been taken, give the camera back to Mr. Locke and he will copy the file to your home folder.
NOTE: If you prefer to not have your picture taken, you may find a picture of someone online (no one from school, please) and work with that one instead.

Step 3
Finally, you need to copy and paste yourself (or whoever you've chosen to work with) into the picture that you selected earlier (in Step 1). The video on the right will give you an idea of how to do this. It may not cover every single detail, but you should know enough about Photoshop by now to figure some of these things out on your own. Again, you don't necessarily need to watch the entire video. Just watch as much as you need to. Good luck! :) |
