Before you start the Assignment for Stop Motion Animation, you need to complete the tutorial exercise on this page. Your group can work on this together (you don't need to each do your own).
The first video below will walk you through the process of putting pictures into iMovie and making them appear quickly enough so that it looks like the objects are moving on their own.
The second video will give you an idea of what the end result should look like.
Once you have completed and passed in this tutorial exercise, you may proceed to the Assignment page and try out an idea of your own.

Meet Larry the Bear.
Larry is playing a game. He's on Stage 2 and he needs to figure out a way to get into the Code.org mug. All of the pictures for this stop motion animation have been taken already. You just need to put them into iMovie and then make them appear fast enough so that it looks like Larry is moving around on his own. |
In order to actually do the tutorial exercise, you will need to copy the necessary pictures to your group's folder.
Go to the 'Public' folder on the 'hmmstech' server. Inside, you will find a folder called 'Stop Motion Tutorial Files'. Copy this folder to your group's home folder. If you need help with this step, please feel free to ask. :) |
These are the instructions you will need to follow. There is no sound in the video, but you should be able to watch what I do and try to do it yourself.
|
When you're finished working through the instructions in the first video, you should be putting something like this into the Dropbox.
